Required Documents for a Visa Application in the Democratic Republic of Congo

For Congolese nationals by origin

    • Valid passport (minimum 6 months) and a photocopy.
    • Proof of residence (rent receipt, electricity bill, gas, landline, internet, or mobile bill) and a photocopy.
    • Proof of income (pay slip, family allowance certificate, unemployment certificate, etc.) and a photocopy.
    • Two recent passport-size photos that meet requirements (front-facing, head uncovered, neutral background).
    • Visa fees to be paid.

Additional documents for minors

    • School attendance certificate and a photocopy.
    • Parental authorization and a photocopy.
    • Parent’s identity document and a photocopy.
    • Child’s birth certificate.

For non-Congolese nationals by origin

    • Invitation letter or proof of sponsorship legalized by a notary and the Chancellery of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the DRC, with a photocopy.
    • Photocopy of national ID card or residence permit.
    • Proof of professional activity:
      • Employees: Employment certificate or mission order.
      • Self-employed/Unemployed: Certificate from France Travail or any other proof of resources.

Additional Information

    • Online visa application form completed and printed in two copies.
    • International vaccination card (not required for the visa application but mandatory at the airport).
    • Veterinary documents for pets.
    • Stamped self-addressed envelope for passport return (Chronopost recommended).

Important Information

Processing Times & Reservations:
    • The application must be submitted at least 7 days before the planned departure date.
    • It is strongly advised not to purchase a non-refundable plane ticket before obtaining the visa.
Visa Decision & Validity:
    • The granting of a visa is not guaranteed and depends on the National Provisional Commission for the Granting of Visas (CNPOV).
    • Consular fees are non-refundable.
    • Visas issued by the Embassy are valid for up to 6 months.
    • For a longer duration, the visa must be renewed at the Directorate General of Migration (DGM) or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the DRC.
Number of Entries:
    • Single-entry visa: allows only one entry into the territory. It becomes invalid upon leaving the DRC.
    • Double-entry visa: allows a second return to the DRC as long as the validity period is respected.
    • Multiple-entry visa: allows multiple entries and exits during the validity period.

The applicable visa fees are detailed in the table below. Each application is subject to the payment of the amount indicated.
Please note that any request processed under the express procedure is subject to an additional flat fee of 50 euros, which must be added to the base tariff of the visa requested.
